Learn How To Hear Your Spirit Guides

Learning how to hear your spirit guides can be made much easier by simply introducing a little more silence into your daily life, and a smidgen more peace and quiet in your mind.

And though you can work with your spirit guides at any time of the day or night, it’s useful to practice somewhere that’s away from noise or distractions. As an old soul, you should ideally have somewhere private where you can shut out the outside world. But since, for many people, that’s a luxury, you can always use the corner of your bedroom, or sit at the kitchen table when no one else is around.

To begin learning how to listen to your spirit guides, it’s helpful to have something to focus on.

You might want to light a candle or burn some incense to create an atmosphere that’s conducive to hearing them. A semi-darkened room is infinitely better than an office with fluorescent lighting.

To clear your mind before listening to your spirit guides, I suggest you meditate for a few minutes. One of the easiest ways to do this is to close your eyes, and simply listen. I don’t mean you should go straight into listening for the voice of your spirit guides. Simply focus your attention on noises in the room, like a ticking clock, or perhaps the sound of traffic outside. And every time you find your mind wandering, just go back to listening.

After 10 minutes or so, put a question to your spirit guides. Ideally this should be a question to which you really want to know the answer, not just a test. The response from your spirit guides should be pretty quick. After a few seconds, you should get an answer. It may come as a little clarity around the subject, or you can ask your spirit guides to give you a word or phrase that might help you.

My own spirit guides are fond of saying that learning how to hear your spirit guides is not rocket science. It is however, a learned skill.

It can take time to discern their subtle voice and gentle guidance. It’s important to recognize that this is a collaboration. Your part is to create the space to ensure the clearest communication between the Physical and the Astral Plane.
